Representative Sport
There are a few trials open at the moment. Please ensure your child is looking through the notices to see what trials are open.
All student forms for school representative pathways must come through the Sports Office so that we can approve leave and get appropriate principal consent to trial. Thank-you to all students who have been checking notices and following this process. We congratulate the large number of students who have found success in these trials and competitions. We do not generally receive results from State or National Championships so if students are involved, can you please send these results and photos through to our sport@carmelcollege.qld.edu.au address so that we can share this with our community.
Please check your emails if your child was to attend a trial that was postponed. I have sent out a number of emails to the student and parents of those affected.
SECA Season 2 on the Horizon!
As we celebrate these achievements, we’re already looking ahead—Season 2 preparations are well underway!
For SECA Season 2, we will be transitioning to a universal parent permission slip that outlines all SECA Season 2 Sports and Alternative Activities. Therefore, if for any reason changes occur you are not required to complete an additional slip. We encourage you to have a conversation with your child to find out what they have selected for the Season 2 activity.
If you could please action this parent permission slip as soon as you receive it, which will be by the end of next week at the latest, it would be greatly appreciated.
A reminder that students are to be dressed in the correct uniform and have the College school bag with them for SECA days. Attendance is compulsory on SECA days.

Volleyball Schools Cup
The Year 9 Girls did an incredible job over the three-day carnival at Mt Warren Park!
The improvement from last year has been amazing. All the hard work they’ve put in during training truly paid off, and we achieved our best result yet. Last year, the team finished 6th on the ladder – this year, we brought home the bronze medal, finishing 3rd!
We faced some tough matches, but the girls dug deep and demonstrated resilience throughout the carnival.
A big thank you to Ms. Rodini and Ms. Hooper-Lees for coaching and supporting our volleyball girls.

Rugby League – Girls 9s NRL Gala Day
The Year 9-10 rugby league girls' team attended the Karen Murphy Cup in Wynnum on Tuesday, 10 June. The girls participated well in the 9 aside gala day. Our team was inexperienced, with most girls playing in their first or second gala day. Despite this, we won 2 out of 4 games. A highlight of the day was being able to mix with a couple of the Brisbane Broncos and Queensland State of Origin players. We look forward to more rugby league opportunities in Term 3 and 4 as we aim to give more girls the experience of playing rugby league.
