Dance Students Shine in Guest Workshop with Vanessa Friscia
On Tuesday 1 April, our Year 10, 11, and 12 Dance Curriculum students had the incredible opportunity to participate in an incursion with esteemed guest artist Vanessa Friscia.
The workshop focused on expanding students' movement vocabulary through improvisation, using four key concepts: throw, catch, push, and pull. Through these dynamic exercises, students explored new ways to move through the space, enhancing their creativity and physical expression.
The engagement and enthusiasm from all students were exceptional, and their respectful approach to the workshop was a testament to their passion for dance. They embraced the challenges set by Vanessa and gained valuable insights that will support their choreographic development.

Looking ahead to Term 2, students will apply these new skills to their choreographic tasks, using their experiences from the workshop to craft original movement sequences.
We can’t wait to see how their creativity unfolds!
