During Week 8, our Year 7 students had the opportunity to attend Ngutana-Lui, Brisbane Catholic Education’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Studies Centre, based in Inala. This visit provided a unique chance for our students, along with their teachers, to increase their awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and spiritualities.

During their visit, our students participated in four engaging activities: Aboriginal Song and dance, dot paintings, Dreamtime stories, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural experiences. Each activity was thoughtfully designed to immerse the students in the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

It was a memorable day for everyone involved, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow through such meaningful experiences. We look forward to incorporating the knowledge and insights gained from this visit into our learning in HASS and English that we will continue in Term 2.
